Who I am

This website, rajibulalam.com, is run by me, Rajibul Alam. When this policy says “I”, “me” or “my”, it means me. You can contact me about anything in this policy at [email protected].

What information I collect

• Contact form: your first and last name, email address, phone number (optional), the topic you choose, your message, whether you agreed to this policy and the Terms, and whether you chose to receive marketing messages.
• Newsletter: your email address, and your first and last name if you give them.
• Basic technical data: like most websites, the servers that host this site may process technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device and the pages you visit. I use IP addresses to limit spam and abuse of the forms.

I don’t ask for sensitive information, and I’d ask you not to send any through the forms.

How I use your information

• To read and reply to your messages.
• To send newsletters, offers and promotional messages, but only if you opted in.
• To keep the site secure, prevent spam and improve the website.

I don’t sell your personal information.

Marketing and consent

Marketing messages are always optional and need your separate consent. On the contact form this is a separate checkbox that is unticked by default. Signing up for the newsletter is itself your opt-in to receive it.

If you opt in, I may contact you by email. I’ll only contact you by phone, SMS or WhatsApp if you gave me a phone number and opted in.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking “unsubscribe” in any email, or by emailing [email protected]. Withdrawing consent doesn’t affect anything sent before you withdrew it.

Service providers

I use a few trusted services to run this website. They process data on my behalf or provide features on the site:

• Cloudflare: hosts the website and the database where form messages and newsletter sign-ups are stored.
• GitHub: stores the website’s code and content.
• Resend: sends emails, such as the confirmation you receive after using the contact form.
• YouTube: videos on this site are embedded from YouTube. When you play one, YouTube (Google) may set its own cookies and collect data under its own privacy policy.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy, and their servers may be located outside your country.

How long I keep your data

I keep contact messages for as long as I need them to reply to you and handle any follow-up, and newsletter details until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete them. I delete data I no longer need from time to time.

Your rights: access, correction and deletion

You can ask me to show you the personal information I hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Just email [email protected] from the address you used, and I’ll respond as soon as I reasonably can. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under your local law too.

Security

I take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limited access to the admin area. No website or online service is 100% secure, though, so I can’t guarantee absolute security.

Children

This website isn’t meant for children. Please don’t use the forms if you are under 13, or under 16 if you live somewhere where that is the minimum age for giving consent online. If you believe a child has sent me personal information, contact me and I’ll delete it.

International visitors

I’m based in Bangladesh, and the services I use may store and process data in other countries. By using this website, you understand that your information may be processed outside your own country.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. When I do, I’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be made clear on the site.
